OVA Review! Angel's Feather (2006)

What is up everyone! Its a new month so that means we are back with a new review for you guys. I hope everyone is having a good October and enjoying the current anime and Anime convention season.

Apparently lee, I am in that part of the year when watching Terrible Anime is the mission, because I just watched and reviewed a terrible for the podcast and now I'm about to review one that may have been a worse of that. The Anime in question today is the 2006 Anime Angel's Feather.

I dont even know what to start with Angel's Feather, firstly it is based on a Yaoi Visual Novel video game, and you can tell from the way the characters interact that its from a game. The main story is that our main character Shou is transferred to this new school and while there he finds out that one of the top boys at the school is actually his brother who he was separated from when they were kids.

One the surface the story sounds like it could be a decent one, but the show quickly goes down hill. The issue with this OVA is that it's full of just random interactions that seem to come out of nowhere and dialogue that doesn't flow well. There is one part in the Anime where they just randomly start fighting monsters and then one of the guy's turns on the other and it just came out of left field.

Even though this Anime is a Yaoi, I'm not even sure I would recommend it to Yaoi fans because it honestly moves to fast for any fans to focus on any pairings or relationships because its just a quick rotation of guys that barely get more than a few moments of screen time.

While I do plan to hunt down the game because well I have a problem lol , I cant recommend this anime at all.  The story had some potential and maybe if it was more than 2 episodes they could have fleshed it out more but as it is, its just a really rushed OVA that ends up falling flat.

Thanks for reading!

OVA Review! X & Y (2023)

What is up guys! its that time again, we are back with another monthly review for you guys. I was hoping to have this review up sooner but I started a new job so things got a bit out of wack, but its all sorted now so here we are with the review.

The anime up for review this week is one that I've been trying to watch for a bit but it seems like it took forever to complete, but it has now so I was finally able to catch it. The Anime that is up for review this week is X & Y. This is a Chinese Anime and from what I can remember this is the first Chinese Anime I have watched.

X and Y revolves around our main characters Yan and Hu who both work together, They stumble on a escape room and they decide to go check it out and see what the whole thing is about. The escape room is operated an owned by Xu, and of course she is the mysterious type who likes to act innocent but she clearly gives off the vibe that all is not as it appears.

I will say while the story is not the most in depth story, the mystery that surrounds Xu and her whole backstory is enough to keep you interested in the Anime. We meet someone from her past and that's when we start to get more information about her and the escape room and when we start to discover that the escape room may be something that you cant get away from once you visit it.  They tease this throughout the show because there are many times when Yan has these weird dreams and also has incidents where he is randomly trapped during his daily life and he has to attempt to escape.

I will say that I am really enjoying this anime, It has just enough mystery and action that it keeps you watching plus it does help that the episodes are only 17 minutes long so the anime does not over stay its welcome in each episode and it makes for a easy watch. It is on Crunchyroll so you can check it out there.

I hope you guys enjoyed this review! Ill be back next month with another review for you guys, so until then stay safe and enjoy your Anime!

Movie Review! Aikatsu Planet! Movie (2022)

What is up guys! Its that time of the month again, so you know what that means....Its review time! I hope you all are doing well and enjoying the current Anime and Con season. This month I'm bringing you guys a movie review and I know I haven't done a review for a movie in a while so its nice to finally get back to them.

The movie up for review is a movie based on the CGI/ live action Anime series Aikatsu Planet! and the movie is titled Aikatsu Planet! Movie. If you have seen Aikatsu Planet then you will know what to expect from this movie and while you don't have to watch the series to fully enjoy this movie, it does pick up right after the series so its best to watch that first so you understand who all the characters are and why they are doing certain things.

In this movie we jump right in after the fine stage performance by the idols and we see Mao dreaming about how well the stage went and having another huge performance with all the idols together outside of competing with each other. Feeling inspired she decided to live stream a festival type event to not only show the other idols how much they mean to her but to also show the fans how much they mean.

Once the Festival gets started the movie basically follows the same formula as the show, we see the different girls each do a different activity that centers around one idea but includes all the idols and they basically all do mini concerts and then inside the Aikatsu world they also interact with the fans. While the movie is nothing to special I do enjoy it because I do enjoy Idol music, and while this series as a whole is pretty cringe its still a easy and relaxing watch because its just the idols having fun and singing some pretty solid songs.

The half live action half CGI anime is trying to become a bigger part of the culture and I think Idol series like this are what that formula is made for because the two blend pretty well and the music will draw you in and of course the cute idols. If you haven't seen this series or movie I recommend them, its a pretty easy watch and the movie can be found on YouTube.

Thanks for reading as always and ill be back next month with another one...

OVA Review! Ane Log: Big Sister Moyako's Never-ending Monologue (2015)

What is up guys! I know it seems like I was just posting but technically that was last month so I am back with a new post this month! The new Anime season has started and so far im enjoying the new shows but there are one or two that I can tell I might be dropping already.

If you guys remember from the last post, I mentioned that the Anime In that review was the alternative version of the Anime I thought I was watching. Well today I am back with the correct version today and I must say....It was even better than I expected.

The Anime for review today Is non other than the top tier classic from 2015 called Ane Log!. Now if you are like me, you may have seen the name Ane Log float around on some Anime sites but you were not quite sure what the show was about. I had no idea what i was getting myself into but once the episode started I knew I was going down the rabbit hole.

Ane Log is about siblings Moyako and Akira, they are brother and sister and due to something Akira said when he was a kid, Moyako now thinks that he has some weird pervy crush on her but its all in her head. The beauty of this OVA is the ability of Moyako to turn the most innocent thing into this deep layered plat set by Akira to try and Perve on her and its never true. She has one friend who tries to let her know that this is all in her head and then one friend that fully embraces it.

This Anime had me laughing from start to finish because yes technically kind of a bad Anime due to their really only being one plot point the entire time but the extremely weird scenarios that Moyako comes up with will make you laugh because they are so outrageous. If you like some mindless comedy this show will fill that need for sure.

Overall I did enjoy this Anime because I enjoy some good trashy pervy Anime so this was right up my alley and if you like those also then i highly recommend this anime, Its only 3 episodes so its a pretty fast watch. Once again thank you all for reading and I will be back in August with a new review. Until then...
