Today's review is a wild one! I thought I was in store for some mild Spicy Anime but I got way more than I bargained for!
Today's review is a wild one! I thought I was in store for some mild Spicy Anime but I got way more than I bargained for!
What is up guys! I almost didn't make it but I have a new review for you guys this month! Hope everyone has been doing well and staying safe and if your in Georgia like I am, I hope this crazy weather hasn't impacted you to much.
I was hoping to have gotten this review done a few weeks ago but I procrastinated just a bit on watching the series so it took me a while to finally get to it. Today we are going all the way back to 2001/2002 and we will be taking a look at the anime Ajimu: Kaigan Monogatari.
I would describe this Anime as a comedy/ Slice of Life mixed in with some light pervyness. Our main characters are of course Ajimu and Nakaido, who run into each other on the train one morning and in typical Anime fashion Nakaido instantly falls in love and is determined to get to know Ajimu.
The ona is 4 episodes and for me its a tale of 2 episodes because the first two episodes are really solid but then the last two episodes sort of dropped off and the story seems to forget its pacing and just feels like random clips put together. In the first two episodes we see the two actually start to bond even after Ajimu thought he was a pervert due to a tennis racket (just watch lol), but they start to get along and we even discover that Ajimu has a hidden talent.
Episode two we get more interaction with the other side characters and we even learn about a old friend of Ajimu's that isn't around and to me this is where the series started to go down. Episode 3 and 4 just seem so random at times, The friend makes a return and all the characters seem to just have random interactions with each other that really don't mesh. Towards the end Nakaido gets hurt but does recover due to Ajimu but the whole thing just falls flat.
For me this Anime had real potential and is a victim or being to long, it would have made a perfect two episode ona but they tried to stretch it out and the story got watered down.
Alright, well thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy. I will be back with another review and hopefully that one will be more positive. Stay safe and healthy
MAHO OUT!
What is up guys! its a new year and I hope it is going well for everyone so far. My new year is going well so far but this post was supposed to be up weeks ago so the blog is off to a great start for the year. You guys will probably get two reviews this month so hopefully that's something you will all look forward to.
So we are going to start the year off with a bang and bring you guys a review of a series I had always seen the name of but didn't really have much information on until I actually watched it. The series in question for today is non other than 3 x 3 Eyes. This Anime is a prime example of a classic 90's Sci-Fi Anime, and that means the story is very loose and the action is all over the place.
Our main characters are Yakumo who is just your average student at first and Pi who is a female Demon and because of some events that happen she is trying to help him become human again.
I will say that I do like that Yakumo's friend's get involved in the story and are also trying to help him out any way they can, sometimes in these types of shows, the friends find out your secret, they disown you and then the main character is left to just and rebuild his life but here they sort of because his rescue team which I liked.
Without hitting on to much of the story, the main goal is to turn Yakumo back into a non immortal human and during that process they run into enemies that are also trying to obtain the same item that he needs and so we get clashes that probably needed more than 4 episodes to fully feel like they reached their goal.
Overall I would say give this series a watch if you are in the mood for some 90s anime but otherwise I don't think it sticks out enough that it has to be a must fan. As always thank you all for reading and I will try to get another review up before the end of the month.
MAHO OUT!
What is up guys! Its that time again, I am back with another review and the last review of the year. This will be the last post until sometime in January when I return with a new review for you guys.
The Anime I'm reviewing today is from a series that I love and really enjoyed watching . The series in question is non other than Air Gear. Now before I start the review I will say that this ova from what I've read takes place chapters after the Anime and is more of a random arc than a huge part of the story. I have not read the manga so ill try to go light on the review.
First it was glad to dive back into the world of Air Gear because its a series that I really enjoyed and found fun and interesting. This OVA though, was really hard for me to enjoy, not really because I had not read the manga but because the episodes felt so random and kind of thrown together, which made the episodes sort of hard to follow.
The ova features two fights but episodes 2 and 3 feature the fight against the former members of Sleeping Forest and while the fight is a good one at times I felt lost trying to follow all the characters and all of the action and I found myself starting to tune out some of the action.
As someone who hasn't read the Manga, I don't recommend this ova unless you just want some more Air Gear content and not really concerned with the context of why some things are happening.
Overall I would have to give it a 7/10 because while it is good, it also leaves a lot to be desired. The ova's are on YouTube so you can watch it there.
Thank you all for reading, and I hope you enjoy this review. The numbers have been really good this year so thank you so much for reading the blog and enjoying. See you guys next month.
MAHO OUT!
